Harley-Davidson goes fashionably pink to support those affected by breast cancer
MILWAUKEE (October 19, 2011) - To help a great cause, the Harley-Davidson Motor Company is making pink the “it” color on and off the road.
As part of their continuing effort to support women and families impacted by breast cancer, Harley-Davidson donates a portion of the proceeds from the sale of every MotorClothes® Pink Label Collection item throughout the year to a number of organizations that support women with breast cancer, including YourShoes™ 24/7 Support Center, which is administered by the national non-profit Y-Me National Breast Cancer Organization® (formerly known as Breast Cancer Network of Strength®).
Staffed by breast cancer survivors who provide immediate emotional relief to those affected by the disease, the YourShoes center helped more than 40,000 people during the past year. Since Harley-Davidson began sales of the MotorClothes Pink Label Collection in 2010, the Motor Company has been able to donate more than $335,000 to support those affected by breast cancer.
The Harley-Davidson MotorClothes Pink Label Collection is comprised of dozens of the company’s most popular women’s items and was inspired by women who have been affected by breast cancer. Highlights of the MotorClothes Pink Label Collection include:
- The Pink Label Leather Jacket (P/N 98160-10VW, $295) combines lightweight leather, a fixed lining, multiple zippered pockets and pink-embroidered graphics.
- Made from 73 percent cotton/27 percent polyester with pink-embroidered graphics, the Pink Label Activewear Hoodie (P/N 99171-10-VW, $65) and Activewear Pant (P/N 9917-10VW, $45) are casually comfortable.
- The 93 percent cotton/7 percent spandex Pink Label S/S Tee (P/N 99175-10VW, $35) is embroidered on both sides and available in XS – 3W sizes.
- Made from 100 percent cotton with an elastic band, the Pink Label Headwrap with Pink Embroidery (P/N 99499-10VW, $15) can be worn as a headband or wrap.

Krawiec And Harley V-Rod Lead NHRA Countdown Battle
MOHNTON, PA (October 3, 2011) - Harley-Davidson® Screamin’ Eagle®/Vance & Hines rider Ed Krawiec retained his lead in the NHRA Full Throttle Countdown to the Championship, winning one round of eliminations at the rain-delayed Auto-Plus® NHRA Nationals at Maple Grove Raceway. The Pro Stock Motorcycle class ran one round on Sunday, and then continued racing on Monday.
Krawiec won on Sunday, defeating Shawn Gann on the Dirt World Nation Buell. On Monday, Krawiec lost in the second round to SAF & Motorcycles Specialties rider Jerry Savoie. Krawiec’s 7.120-second ET was his slowest run of the weekend, and not enough to beat a 6.949-second pass by Savoie.
“I had him covered in round two, and then when I shifted to third gear, the motorcycle shut down for three or four tenths of a second,” said Krawiec. “In three years of riding the Harley V-Rod® I’ve never had an electrical problem, but it seems that’s what happened today. The bike started right back up, but by then the round was lost. We’ll figure out what happened and be ready for the next race. The good news is we came in with a nice cushion in the points, and we used it today.”
Harley-Davidson® Screamin’ Eagle®/Vance & Hines rider Andrew Hines won two rounds on the team’s other Harley V-Rod, defeating Nitro Fish Suzuki rider LE Tonglet in round one and The Edge Suzuki rider Michael Phillips in round two. Hines set a new personal ET record at 6.794 seconds in the second round, the fourth quickest time in class history. Hines lost in the third round to Lucas Oil Buell rider Hector Arana Jr.
Arana Jr. defeated Buell rider Matt Smith in the final to win the second event of his career.
After three of six Countdown events Krawiec leads the Pro Stock Motorcycle class with 2362 points. Arana Jr. moves from third to second place with 2327 points, and Smith is third with 2292 points. Geico Suzuki rider Karen Stoffer, who lost in round one at Maple Grove, drops to fourth with 2261 points. Hines is fifth with 2253 points.
The fourth round of the Countdown to the Championship, the 27th annual NHRA Arizona Nationals, takes place October 14-16 at Firebird International Raceway in Chandler, Ariz.
